Rider down

Ok so to start off I'm ok ... Got a nice bruise on my hip and an exhaust burn on my calf

I was traveling at a safe speed with my blinker on in a turn lane .. Light was green and only one pick up was at the light stopped as I came up behind him i put my feet down thinking he was going to proceed through the light and turn ... he thrn decided to back up...direct hit

Luckily I only fell over and the bike took most of the damage and my face didn't meet his back tire ... I was able to get up and ask the guy what the he was doing backing up in a turn lane with a green light ... He said he decided he didn't want to turn and was going to go straight and when he backed up he never saw me

I have his insurance and business card and a picture of his tdl

So now what?
I am on my way to see Patrick at motorcycles unlimited but I deffinatley want to get everything I can out this guy so any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated

Your ins will need to contact his. Have pat say that you had some extra work done on the bike and write it up. who knows maybe you will also get a new exhaust or some levers out of it.

Good thing nobody got seriously hurt and the guy had insurance.

F-150 King Ranch version did the same thing to me while I was caging 2 years ago. Laid on the horn before impact, but no help. I came out $1000 ahead for a busted headlight.

As long as they admit fault to their insurance, you can go through their insurance to settle on your claim. Less hassle for you, imo.

Unless if you're filing for other reasons.

Yeah, no real need for police report. Call the insurance NOW if you haven't yet.

Why? Obviously it was an accident and that's why people have insurance. Get your bike fixed and chalk it up as an accident, why try to milk it?

I'm inclined to think Patrick's ethics are better then yours, I don't see him facilitating insurance fraud.

Wrong, the rider can file a claim with the pickup driver's insurance company directly, if he chooses

truly my biggest mistake in all this

front fender is destroyed
forks possibly bent
handelbars bent
speedo dead
sub frame bent
frame scratched
plastics scratched
ego at an all time low

all repairable as long as the insurance company doesnt total it
