And resale is definitely a plus. Which is one of the reasons I wouldn't mind buying new. every vehicle i'v purchased since 07 has been paid for in cash. Now I'm faced with the decision if I should finance or not, and I don't think it would be a bad idea to carry payments on a triumph. Especially if the newer models are as good as everybody says they are.
Yeah, that was me all thumbs trying to see my XL Shoei fits in those Guzzi bags. I try to be very careful with somebody else's stuff. I told the Finance Minister I'll be home by noon, so I was in a bit of a hurry to leave.

A guy working at the CycleGear off 59 was selling his red 09 S3. Dunno if he sold his yet. The S3 I really like is the 2012 R, which has Ohlins TTX36 shock and NIX30 forks, not to mention forged super lightweight wheels. One Triumph dealer told me he could do $1000 discount on the S3R, so they might be wanting to clear the floor for '13s coming.

Good to hear you paid cash for all your bikes. Me too. That's the way to do it. If you do finance, borrow as little as you can.

as much as i would LOOOOVE to own an S3R i don't think i could do 16k....been finding lightly used 2011 S3's for about 9500-10500. which is more like it. i'm going to keep looking and hopefully i'll find the one. but i'm pretty much dead set on the 11+ models.

I can't bring myself to swing for a new S3R, either. For me, a side exhaust would be a must, since I don't care fot the underseat mufflers. So that would be another $500 at least thrown on top.

i'v owned 3 street bikes. sportie, nightie, and a buell. was raised turning wrenches on my dads harleys so for years HD's were the only bikes that existed to me(outside of dirt). till i had to live with a harley everyday. and the buell is not a bad bike but it's still got that clunky abrasiveness to it. and it definitely leaves me wanting more rpm and a 6th gear. not that i wanna do bomb runs down the freeway but 80-100 is SCREAMIN. so yeah got bored with the buell, hoping the S3 will be more satisfying.

yeah i'd do side exhaust, fender eliminator, and bar end mirror.

like this:

d7d08563191f96ef770cf58e180f2bb3

however i'd be happy to ride it as is if i couldn't afford to modify.

If I go back to an new S3, I'd also have to spend some change to go back to the round headlights. The new ones still haven't grown on me.

i really dont mind them. i just like the fact that it doesn't look like anything else out there. plus you don't notice them while riding. so really as long as they illuminate the road in front of me then i'm happy

Yap, that's one right way to do an S3, though Competition Werks is mucho dineros. Triple sounds great with it though. I almost spit my milk and cereal the first time I saw the new speedy headlights, but now I actually like 'em better. Still looks like a bug... just a more sinister praying mantis look.

I personally can't stand the new headlights. One of the things I love about my Speedy is the headlights. Gives it a classic/retro look. Like something Brando would ride.

I don't mind either of the lights... once they have a screen/sheild/deflector on them.

What bothers me is being frame mounted and stuck out so far. I'd fork mount so I could tuck them closer.

BTW, the Buell is awesome... definitely on my "want" list (the xb12s to be specific). Just no space/enough money right now. Don't want it as my only bike cause I'm not sure it really matches the riding i do (Hou freeways are fast, and i clock a lot of miles too)

well i'm not trying to dump mine ASAP, and make no mistake that buell IS a fun bike and it definitely has a killer look.
