best dirt bike for a 7 year old???

I been thinking about getting my son a dirt bike he just turned 7 last march. Need some imformation dont want to put him in something too small or too big any ideas? thanks!!

Honda 50 with tall bar kit. When he's comfortable to move up to a bigger bike, keep it for you to ride and get him a bigger bike. Win-Win.

get him a crf100 or klx110 and next year when he turns 8, put track wheels and tires on it and start him racing TMGP....hehehe

Agreed. Both are excellent platforms that allow the kid to grow with the bike as skills progress.

i put my son (6 yr old) on my crf50 yesterday for the first time and he could barely reach the ground on his tip toes... granite he is kind of short but a 100 seems a little tall to me. lol

but either way now he wants one and he cant have mine so time to get another one. haha

XR50. Stick to four stroke, low power, low maintenance, always start no matter what kinda fun. XR70, then up to a XR100, then up to a CRF150F.

the two strokes are lighter and have more power, they cost more to buy and cost more to maintain and they require a lot more maintenance as they break more often.
on the slower and more reliable and cheaper to run 4 strokes, he will learn to ride better, learn to be much more technical, he will not have the power to depend on, once he learns to ride, power the out of him.
