It's correct. Says the same for my 09 1KRR and 600RR in both the owner's and shop manuals. I use PRO HONDA GN4 and change it every 4,000 just to be safe

I do two quarts oil + one quart distilled water.

Keeps things running smooth and makes my bike feel more powerful.
Also the water cleans out the filter so I don't bother changing it.

Vaseline for the chain.

If synthetic hasnt been in it yet just go grab any motorcycle oil from your nearest dealership. Honda Yamaha Suzuki ...it doesn't matter. Most of those brands are all the same with diff labels. Sometimes autizone carries motorcycle oil too. Just use an oil specifically for motorcycles because there is an additive for the clutch.

Honda HP4 without moly. It's a good synthetic blend at a reasonable price compared to full synthetic oils.

People who recommend the search function are being wankers! Oil manufacturers are always coming out with new and improved products so an old thread may not be relevant anymore.

Look into Motul 300v and a K&N Filter from Cycle Gear. The K&N filters have a nut for easy removal.
