It sucks but it does feel good when you can pay for the things you want and get stuff paid off. I don't know what you do for a living, bartending at clubs can make good money. I know some guys that do it and have regular white collar jobs during the day time.

If i was you, this is what i would do.

1) Some how get the money/collect the money and pay off the loan.
2) Once the title arrives, sell the bike with title (you'll get more money then any dealer would be willing to pay, unless you know them or something of that sort).
3) Then go to the dealer and get the other bike.

I'm totally against trade-ins, whether car or bike - they always like to low ball you, so i just sell em first or after.

Just my $0.02

PM me with details of your bike and how much you want for her, Suzuki me off with there 05 frame damage issues, so i'm gonna stick with an 04-05 750 or 03-04 1000. Let me know your price aswell.

extras don't mean squat my friend. that is why I am selling all my goodies off my Aprilia and I'll relist it as a stock bike. Did you keep the original pieces from yours?

i wouldn't trade it in either. just buy the one you want, and find a private sale.

How about this: get a second job delivering pizzas on the bike.

Tell customers that live near nice twisties that you aren't responsible if their toppings slide around a bit on the crust.

Seriously though, if you're upside down in your current bike too much, then it won't even be possible to finance the difference in with the new bike even if you wanted to go that route (i.e., say you were upside down 5k, no one's going to finance 15k on a 10k bike).
