Friendly reminder to wear your riding boots!

So this evening I went on a ride with some fellow MH members. When we were riding I noticed that it was getting close to my curfew and I needed to get home quick. Needless to say, my riding pace wasn't "noob" as I needed to get from Brookshire to Katy in 30 mins. While doing a little over 160, I noticed a bird in my peripheral vision, I then watched it fly downward, striking me on my left foot! It was painful and when I got home I noticed my whole left leg was covered in blood, guts, and feathers.

Not trying to tell anybody what to do, but dude 160 really?! there is a fine line between riding spirted and non-noob pace and riding at a suicidal pace. Do yourself a favor get a slower bike.

And how would daddy feel about his son riding 160 miles an hour down I10...

And brohan, If you truly were doing 160 and crashed... I highly doubt your gear is going to save you at those speed.

If I had kids and they had motorcycles and I found out they were doing 160 on a public road I would take their bike and make them personally go crush it, after I sold a few of the valuables off it of course.

160 probably isn't as bad if there were no traffic, much better than 130 in moderate traffic IMO. Dangerous nonetheless, and not worth the risk to me, but other people have posted on here claiming those kinds of speeds w/o getting flamed?

Glad the boots offered some protection. Shin / knee guards are a good idea for any ride though. Don't know how a knee cap would hold up against 160 mph birds. lol

We were on the side of 1458 past I10 and the state park and I didn't see one car or truck the whole time. I was on a straightaway close to Simonton when I accelerated and hit the bird (speedo actually said 162) but hey I got home in time

Ehhh well I pulled into my driveway exactly at my curfew so it payed off. The point of this thread wasnt to get people worked up over going fast, if I knew that's what was going to happen, I would have left that detail out lol
