This buy too good to be true?

I found a 2005 R1 listed for $2200. I thought it was in Dallas, I contact the buyer to get title status, VIN, and more pictures. She tells me it's listed at that price because she just went through a divorce, the bike ended up as hers, and she's in financial trouble now and needs the money fast. If I want to buy, we will go through eBay so we are both insured.

I reply and tell her: Can you send me two pics of the bike now, a picture of the title, and a picture of the VIN and I will give you an answer right away.

This was her response:

"The bike is now located in Peoria, IL (i just moved here with my new job), like I told you the delivery process is payed by me and I want to finish this deal through eBay because they are a biggest company and we can both be protected and insured. As you can see, you will receive the bike in max 2-3 days and you will get the chance to inspect it 5 days, test drive it and everything you like. The bike will be delivered directly to your requested address as soon as I will have the payment confirmation from eBay. eBay will hold the money until you receive it, inspect it and decide if you want to keep the bike. If you're interested to purchase just email me with your full name, shipping address and your phone number, so I can notify eBay that you are selected as my buyer and they will contact you to explain the entire process.

Thanks a lot!

Careful there......it could be very well ...you can always call ebay to find out if it's a real listing....a lot of scam use "ebay-like" email but it's all scam....
Now it could be real as well so ebay customer service will tell you if it is legit!!

that' what I'm thinking, if i give her my info she/he can't do much with a phone number name and address that I can't fix with any real headaches. If someone calls me from 'eBay' I can take the info they gave me, and call eBay and verify it before sending any money. Right?

You will lose $2200.00. Better bet fly to vegas and with the rest of the money bet on red.

Scam. Run away.

Quick way to tell. Tell her you have a buddy in Peoria that can check it out, deliver the cash, and take delivery for you. I bet it's already on a shipping container and can only be shipped.

fastest way to id a scam from a smoking deal...........

Tell em it just so happens I'm going to be headed to (wherever bike is) and I've got the cash in my hand. Let's do this. Lots of excuses will follow for a scam.

This is totally a scam btw. Anyone that desperately needed to dump an R1 for $2200 could walk in to the closest dealership and walk with cash with no hassles.

Tell her that sounds fine and dandy, but that's not what you asked for.
You wanted pics of the above mentioned items.
Bet you'll get more excuses.
What's their seller rating?

Don't tell her anything. don't waste your time. It's a total scam. We tried to convince my friends brother but he didn't listen. Bye Bye $2400. I flag those every chance I get. They'll send you a legit looking ebay motorvehicle buyer's protection page and everything. It's all FAKE!!! If you're looking to buy a bike - - make sure you can put your hand on it.

On the other hand there are lots of divorces and stuff to be had on the cheap if you keep a look out.

Does it sound like BS?
First, as mentioned, eBay doesn't do stuff like hold the money and contact you when you are the purchaser.
Second, what happens if you decide not to buy the bike? Who pays for all the shipping? That's several hundred dollars EACH way.
Third look at the language I highlighted, it sounds like what a english as a second language person would say.

I've seen the exact same language in scam ads several times.
