new to moto

Hey guys my name is Matthew im 24 married and father of a soon to be 2 yo. I have always wanted a motorcycle and still do. I have never riden one before but will be taking the mcf class sometime soon. I want to trade my 94 honda accord in for a bike to start off but dont know what to look for in a bike. I have read to start off with a smaller engine like 250cc but my wifes friends and a coworker have told me cuz of my size and the easy of learning that i should start with 750cc-1000cc. the problem i see with that is that is that i dont know of anyone selling anything 750 or above for what im looking to trade my care for. the kbb value of my care is 2100.00 and im not looking to add any money to that cuz its my first bike and there are higher risk or droping and what not. what do yall think
