cut the cat off and install the mid pipe. put a slip on like a GYTR or something like that to make it sound better.

it will sound better and run better.
will loose on the low end so get a sprocket kit to get better drive.

please DO NOT make this bike sound like a GSXR with straigh headers. I will never ride with you ever again!!!

:-)
I saw an R6 with a T-Tuner midpipe with a carbon fiber GYTR and it sounded nice, I would do the same thing but just do an Alrapovic megaphone. And yeah the T-Tuner is only $175. If you look at my other thread I was talking about getting a DID chain and some vortex sprockets and doing like a -1 +2 or something of that sort.

If your parents were crazy enogh to let you get a motorcycle that does 0-60 in 3 seconds and top speed of 166mph IN HOUSTON then there is no excuse of NOT letting you do a track day which only teaches you how to become a BETTER rider!!

Thats all I have to say.
And the only reason they got it for me is because I'm honestly a kid that stays out of trouble and is responsible. If I was getting pulled over all the time and getting in police chases they would have sold it by now. Ironically my parents are actually pretty strict. And I get what you're saying, my dad is an engineer and his director does track days. Maybe I'll tell him to convince my dad.

So I'm curious (I may need to make a new thread for this) what do you think my parents should have done differently? Different motorcycle that I have now or no motorcycle at all?

if i had a bike at 17, i wouldn't be around at 18

you've never said what kinda previous bike experience you have. what about your parents? do they have a clue how fast they are?

Learned on a Honda CR85 and learned how to ride street on my first bike which was a 2012 ninja 250

My dad rides a 2012 Harley street glide

And yes they are aware of how fast it is, I'll let you in on a little secret, if you don't pull back the throttle that much, it doesn't go very fast. :O

Yep like you said, MOST.

The 250 did not feel stable on the highway and I was having trouble keeping up with my dads group... Which is a group of all Harleys haha so we got rid of it to get my R6

He's been riding since he was very young but only bought a motorcycle when I got one, it's our way of father son bonding

There was one time we were going up a hill and I was maxed out, to my surprise, they were pulling away from me. And I would have to ride it at like 11,000 rpms to get power which isn't good for the engine. I like that on my R6, I shift at like 6,000 rpms and still have enough power

Going to the track is going to make you a better rider. You need to sell your parents on it being a safety school. Which Ridesmart is.

The slip on will ABSOLUTELY change the tone but i still recommend the cat delete.

I'll try and do it but I don't know how to convince them. And yeah ive heard tons of R6s with slip ons that sounded exactly like stock (I even did a side by side sound comparison haha) it's not until the car comes off that sound changes

Here's my grand scheme. I think I'm gonna work corners to make some money, and then convince my parents to let me try it sometime. Any other ideas?

just like how you plan on a ride. you can plan on this events.

Doing a CW (Corner work) will help a lot of getting to the track. you will save about 120 bucks everytime you use it so yes! do it!.

Getting the bike to the track we can all help. I've done it so many times and its not a big problem for the 1st time.. after that.. its all you!!

Let me know when you're ready. I'll do what I can to get you there! we dont even have to tell mom and pops. just dont it up.

see ya!!

Thanks I really appreciate how much effort you are putting in to get me on the track. I'll just tell them that I'm taking an "advanced riders course" haha should work
