Yamaha R6 custom exhaust

I want to make my R6 loud, like Formula 1 loud. I'm thinking about making a pipe that comes off of my headers and sideways out of the bike like a megaphone/midpipe all in 1. Anyone have any input? I know I'll probably have to get a power commander and do something with the O2 sensor.

You're young and I get you, but don't do it. It will sound like and performance will likely suffer. Not to mention your riding buddies and neighbors will hate you.

I never understood the fascination with loud exhaust...I'd rather play hard without catching everyone's attention.

That is pushing it on loudness but would be a good compromise

Don't attempt to make a home made pipe, you will only loose performance.

Yeah you dont want loud man you will get messed with so much, and if you do and you get a ticket dont be complaining about it.

You need the back pressure from the pipe to give you power. If you do get an exhaust dont take out the baffle either.

Thanks everyone for yalls input. When I mean loud I just want it louder than my stock exhaust. As most of y'all know, the R6 has a catalytic converter which kills the sound and performance, I'm looking to get rid of it. In addition, I want my exhaust to be "raspy" and have a growl to it.

A T-Tuner midpipe with an Akrapovic megaphone synced with a power commander 5 with the auto tuner is sounding like a good option, any thoughts?

I have a two brothers shorty on my 07 r6 and it's pretty loud, a little louder then I'd prefer but it does have a nice tone.

I've been looking into their vale carbon fiber slip on paired with a T-Tuner midpipe, I think that would sound awesome and look very good on my black and gold R6!

Thsts easily over $1000, to gain? A few hp.

Or 5 trackdays and improve the rider, because the bike is way more capable then you are.

Get a slip on tat you think sounds and looks good, spend th rest of the $ on learning to ride better.

Put a slip on, on an R6??? It sounds exactly the same as the stock exhaust because of the catalytic converter. You have to do a full system or at least a midpipe with a slip on.

And this motorcycle's title is under my parents name, and they do not want me going to the track, period. Nothing I can do about it even though I would love to go to the track. And this is my only motorcycle. If I were to crash I would have no bike. I'm only 17, I have the rest of my life to go to the track.
