Try ORP. Ask for Chris, he is the owner. It's a bicycle shop located on HWY 6 near Track 21. His labor rate is much lower than at a motorcycle dealer. I've sent him a lot of motocross wheels and he's always done it right. The official name for his shop is Off Road Peddler.

Ok ,

answere this ,

not trying to be a smart ace , but the last rear I had done was wrong , I actually told the guy the offset and he told me that they have all that info in the book . Yeah , OK , WRONG

so with that said ,

Factory specs for my app is

19mm offset , distance from rotor mounting surface to the outermost edge of hoop . , Factory hoop is 79mm wide .

so what would be the rotor surface offset using

1st hoop........................71mm

2nd hoop........................127mm

1st hoop would be 15mm offset, second hoop would be 43mm offset.

X/2-a=b
Where x=rim width
b= factory offset and
a= static hub/rotor offset

To determine static hub/rotor offset swap a and b.

So ,

you dont think that since the oe hoop

is

oe............................79mm

other.........................71mm

difference is ...............8mm smaller hoop

Divided x 2 is...............4mm less per side .

so oe is 19mm + 4mm less would be a greater distance from rotor to outer side of rim

23mm offset for the 1st .

and the 2nd hoop

oe............................79mm

other.........................127mm

difference is ...............48mm bigger hoop

Divided x 2 is...............24mm more per side .

so oe is 19mm - 24mm more would be a less distance from rotor to outer side of rim

Offset for the 2nd would be negative 5 mm

The rotor surface would actually set inside the hoops edge by 5mm.

Would you agree with this ?.

Anyone else is welcome to chime in on the math also .

Seems to me thinner hoop , more distance , wider hoop less distance .

speaking of the rotor mounting surface distance to edge of rim .

The 1st rim is LESS wide, so it would be 19mm MINUS 4mm.
The second rim is wider, so the rim should be 24mm plus the 19mm equalling 43mm.
The thing to keep in mind is the static hub/rotor dimension, which in your case is 20.5mm IF the sotck set up is 79mm with a 19mm offset.
See my equation above.

How can a thinner hoop have MORE distance?
The rotor/hub mounting point is static, a thinner wheel would have less distance from the edge of the rotor to the edge of the wheel, conversely a wider wheel would have more distance since the wheel is larger.
Keep in mind this all only applies as long as the wheel in centered on the hub and not offset from the hub centerline.

The Hub/Hoop combo is not centered , it is offset to 1 side .

That's an important spec to know.
In the 79 mm example, where is the hub centerline?
How much clearance is there on the rotor side of the bike/swingarm?
