Just sounds like a lot of confusion, and people breaking the cardinal rule of not passing in the same lane. And showing how fast they are in a straight away.

Just another SMR.

I ride with no mirrors cause I am too lazy to take em off and put em back on when I go from street to track. I figure that the people I ride with aren't jackasses...

If I can't eat it, race it or sleep with it then whats the point?

Motorcycles are like women... once you ride one... you wanna ride em all.

I understand not having them. Obviously someone shouldn't have to worry about someone running into the back of them. Good thing there was no major injuries!

Good lesson in group riding technique, definitely. Hence my hesitations...thanks for the discussion.

Not just group ride rules, but simple courtesy and common sense...

NEVER pass in the same lane, especially on the right!
YOU are responsible to keep distance from the rider in front of you

Is this true? You're posting this as a "lesson of what not to do" but then are riding on the sidewalks instead of the streets during this ride?
Yes, I was on the ride and can verify that this is a true statement.

Finally saw the video (was private before). I don't think I'd be in that group long.
Camera in the left lane, passing two riders in the right lane, who are being passed in between them and the camera, and someone decides to slip by him and the shoulder... that. No one there was acting right.

I've been on a Pinball ride where a visor flew off, bikes scattered around it, some were deciding to pull over or turn back to grab it, and it all went over MUCH smoother than that mess. (not even taking into account the actual collision)
