SCAMMER ALERT!!!!!!!!! MGMR MOTORCYCLES

So I ordered a set of Pirelli Diablo III's for my ZX-10R off of the internet, and then, took the wheels off myself and took them up to MGMR to get them mounted and balanced (normally I deal with Patrick or Andy, but these guys were right down the road, and it's simple, just mount and balance two tires). He has me sign a work order that shows what work is being done, however, no price listed. This didn't really worry me much because every where generally charges the same $10/each for loose rims. WRONG. I come back to get my wheels (because they said it would take their tech an hour and a half) and to my suprise when I go to pay there's a bill sitting there for SEVENTY, YES 70, DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm absolutely baffled, I ask him wtf is he thinking, and tell him that everywhere else in town charges 10 bucks. He goes on to explain that his techs make 30/hr, it takes tham .5 hrs per wheel, etc etc etc. I'm sorry, but if you're paying someone 30/hr, it better take them a lot less than 30 ****ing minutes to mount and balance a motorcycle tire. And of course, since the work order was already signed there wasn't a thing I could do about it without them keeping my new tires and my 1900 Carrozzeria wheels. I got royally ****ed up the by a shot that is supposed to be reputable. I'm sorry, but anyone that charges an hour of ****ing labor to change a couple tires is a ****ing moron. It only took me 10 minutes to take the wheels off the bike, and that's the HARD part.

Whatever you do DO NOT DEAL WITH MGMR MOTORCYCLES. I will never ever trust any other shop ever again besides the folks at Motorcycles Unlimited and Andy at Metric Cycles.

**** YOU MGMR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think cycle gear charged me 30 for one. I'm sure that I've been overcharged for everything I've ever had done to any of my motorcycles, except getting the suspension done. If I can't do it myself, then I just bite the bullet and accept it.

BAH! quit yer whinin. my entire bike is worth marginally more than just your cariozziloniniwhatever wheels, probably the same if you add in the cost of the diablo 3's. quit cryin over your OWN mistake of not asking or checking around. you were probably too busy trying to get somewhere to spend more of your money. buy yourself a damned tire machine and do it yourself allready, lol.

i dont think i would trust someone who charges $10 for a M&B with my 1900 wheels. you sound like the kind of person who would get it done for $5 if you could and then try to sue them if you rim gets so much as a nick in it. LOL.

dont be like this guy, people.

Yeah but 70 bucks a little too much but then again its your fault for not asking what the rate is first.

He should have asked the price first(all agree on that). I also think that as a reputable shop they should have given the price before doing the work. Just my 2

exactly my point. he intentionally DIDN'T fill out that portion until after the job was already done. yeah, i ****ed up, trust me, i'm just as mad at myself as I am at the shop. but regardless, charging an hour of labor to mount and balance 2 tires is absolutely ridiculous.

I know Stubbs on Telephone charges at least $50, maybe more to mount a rear with the wheel on the bike.

i can completely understand charging more if the wheels are on the bike. but when you just bring in a loose rim, come on! it takes 5 minutes to take off the old tire, put on the new one, balance it, and remove any stickers on the tire. and that's if you take ur time!
