when i bought the bike, the reg sticker was already expired, it's been sitting in the garage collecting dust and he never really rode it, never even bother to update the reg sticker, thats how much he rode this bike

Yeah, I think that the 30 days doesn't apply here, as that is time to register if you move here, or if you purchase a previously unregistered vehicle. You can't transfer title on an unregistered vehicle.

I may be wrong, but I think the citation is legit, or else everyone could run around with a bill of sale, just change the dates, and not ever register anything.

If you had the 30 day paper temp tag, that's your registration. Don't know why you got a ticket for no registration. Get it dismissed easily.don't need a lawyer. Take in your receipt from the county tax annex, maybe take a picture. Easy as pie. I've done it
MultiPle times.

Even if you have all the paper work, everything checks out, and they dismiss the ticket, you will still have to pay some bogus $20-25 texas "departmental fee"

It never fails, when this type of happens to me, I never can get away free, so its a waste of my time + a small fee, just to get it dismissed.

I had the same thing happen to me while I was getting my title. I didnt register it because I was waiting on the title to come in the mail. I got an extension to wait until the title came, and never even had to go before a judge. Once the title came I went down to the courthouse, provided my proof of current registration and paid their bullshit $20 fee and left without a hassle. Its not a big deal, just wait until you have your proof of registration and have it dismissed.

Just show up to your arraignment date with your paperwork and it will be dismissed. A trial isn't necessary. If you do not have your paperwork by then, request a trial by judge.

A $10 or $20 fee will be due on the same day, so bring at least a 20 dollar bill with you.
These fees are supposed to balance the state budget.
Also, they pay for victims of crime's hospital bills who do not have a suspect or witness to subject the hospital lien to.
