HJC RPS-10 is pretty dang light, not C/F though

i think HJC did make a CF lid, dunno if your going to find a "good" C/F helmet for less then $250

Arai CF is $2-3k

HJC and Joe Rocket both had/have CF helmets (read: Joe Rocket helmets are made by HJC).
Closeout from a website was still knocking on $300.

Sorry bro, C/F helmets of decent quality are going to run at least $300... Could always get a lightweight regular helmet from HJC,or Arai. looking at $300-$1k for those. Also goto a shop and ask about a discount if the helmet is older say 2+ years. I was able to get a scorpion exo-700 for $150 by doing that.

The RPS-10 is pretty light. Arai, Suomy and even Shark make some light weight lids. My old Shark RS1 was pretty light, especially compared to my Shoei. I'd shop around in person at big retail stores, and try them on. Figure out a couple models and shop around for prices, then go back to said retail stores and ask them to match the price.

If you don't mind ordering from overseas, Airoh are supposedly one of the lightest made. They're like 1200 grams or something. They are only ECE certified though. They cost about $450ish. Same helmet that Bradl wears

Nice lid, Brian.. I still like that one the best for all the Spies helmets. Can I make $20/mo payments and take it off your hands?

I'd say go with a non-carbon Nexx helmet, but it is still outside your price range.

I have seen C/F helmets for as low as $300 but the were 2-3 years old new. I haven't seen one for less that $500. I tried on the new Bell Star C/F, light than the regular Star but $600..Ouch

I've got the HJC FS15 carbon. I like it, it doesn't seem overly light compared to RPS10 or Bell Star (don't think it's carbon... flat black helmet... but didn't know they made a carbon Star till a couple posts ago). I think the RPS is supposed to be like 10grams heavier. The FS15 and RPS are supposed to have different head shapes (round FS15, narrower RPS10).

Got mine for ~$275 clearance somewhere onlline (don't remember where, was awhile ago).

The TWT sale they were running on the RPS10 made it very affordable, and I bet with a call around there's other places trying to close out the old designs.

BTW, I still wear my Sparx QUITE a bit. It's very light actually, and flows more air than my FS15 or EXO700.

Basically, don't think the material is more important than weight and shape/fit.

I thought a CF helmet would have a longer life.....Yeah! i want something lighter than my Scorpion...but, don't have the heart to spend more than $250 on it..
That may have to change..

Thanks for all the input guys.....I see a lot of choices...just need to go try a few out for fitment..
