Aprilia RSV4 carbon

carbon3

This is the result when you take the top-of-the-range Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC and go ballistic in the Aprilia Racing accessory department

Introducing the Aprilia RSV4 Carbon Special Edition, a limited run top-of-the-range RSV4 Factory Superbike which has been equipped with a host of genuine factory-supplied high-performance components, including – as the name suggests -- full carbon fibre clothing.

It will be available in Australia for $39,990, just $10,000 more than the standard Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC.

The full-race carbon fibre body kit, courtesy of Aprilia Racing, includes the fairing, tail piece, front and rear guards and engine covers.

The bike’s body has unique labelling and graphics, which is then clear coated in a three-layer two-pack clear lacquer to provide the highest quality finish.

The Carbon SE is also fitted with an up-spec fully adjustable Ohlins TTX rear shock absorber and a full titanium carbon exhaust system by Akrapovic, matched to an Aprilia Race map.

The full list of premium genuine accessories includes:
Full Aprilia Racing Carbon fibre fairing
Aprilia DPM clutch and brake levers
Aprilia rear tail tidy
Aprilia Racing fully adjustable billeted aluminium rear sets
Aprilia Racing insignia pick-up knobs
Aprilia insignia handlebar weights
Lightweight lithium hi-performance battery
Aprilia Racing tinted race screen
Aprilia Racing carbon fibre engine case covers
Aprilia carbon fibre exhaust hanger
Aprilia carbon fibre heel guards
Each Carbon SE is also fitted with an individually numbered identification plate fitted to the frame representing the build and VIN number.

Finally, there is also a bonus merchandise pack which includes:
A set of Pirelli Diablo Corsa SP tyres
Aprilia genuine merchandise pack of race jacket, cap, key ring and USB with Aprilia Racing video
Aprilia rear race stand
Aprilia bike cover
Pirelli race cap
“Most people that buy Aprilia do so because they want the best. We also know from previous Limited Edition models that the more exclusive the model the more desirable they are,” said John Sample Automotive (JSA) National Manager Kris Matich. “The Carbon Special Edition represents the best of the very best that Aprilia can offer right now and in very limited numbers making it a very desirable bike to own.”

According to JSA, the Australian importer for Aprilia, to build this bike from the Aprilia Factory race catalogue would cost around $17,000 on top of the cost of the bike itself.

Aprilia has not confirmed the exact number of bikes that will be available in Australia, but it’s likely to be less than 20 units.

That's Australian dollars. They say they regular one cost $29,990, but in American dollars they sell for $22,500. So I'd expect this one to be more like $32k.

Looks great, but $32k bike and still the same cheesy rabbit ears?! At least Ducati finally realized even exotic sport bikes like the Panigale need functioning mirrors that actually look good.
