Camera Tip re: wind noise

Tape over the mic. I'm sorry to admit I had to read this on another forum before realizing it, but I'm going to pass it on anyway. A good exhaust note is the best soundtrack to a video, and with the wind noise blocked you'll be able to capture it.

What kind of camera? Would this work on a gopro?
Since they are already in a case you'd think wind noise wouldn't be a problem but my experience is go pros sound crappy.

if you have gopro hero2 you have external microphone jack, you can leave the microphone somewhere that is hidden from wind

External mic on the go pro is much better. I made a sound comparison on youtube to show the difference a few weeks ago.

this works well for track-type purposes. but for street riding, the internal mic is much better at picking up the exhaust noise.

I thought about adapting an mic jack to the GP HD Not sure if it's worth the trouble than just getting an portable voice recorder and overlaying the sound.

I don't understand how to use the external mic on my gopro. The waterproof case has no hole to let a wire in/out.

you can either buy the gopro skeleton case, or do what I did and drill a hole on the side of the gopro.

For the money, I'd rather buy the new HD dive housing for waterproof underwater stuff.
