It needs to either be powered up by the bike or by a 9 volt adapter.

It will work hooked up to the bike if the bike is on. It needs an external power source (not USB). So it either has to be powered by the bike, or they make an adapter to power it with a 9 volt battery

Alright cool, so after having my power source will the Db9 (rs232) plug with a usb into computer transfer the map? I talked to a guy at dyno jet that said the usb cord dosent work 95 percent of the time.

I think I spoke with you last week.
The old PC3R uses a serial port connection, there's not too many current computers that still have them.
If you don't have one there are serial to USB adapters, but like Dynojet said, it's rare that they communicate all of the data properly to the PC3R.
I looked around and found one of our old computers that still has a serial port.
If you have the PC hooked up I can power up my old work station and map it for you.
Give me a call first so I can dig it out and plug it in.

Thanks Patrick gonna try and use the usb adapter first when I'm not so busy with work. But if not I will forsure be bringing it by.

I like the exhaust, needs to be mapped though. Not running 100%. Looks pretty sweet and sounds good. And dropped some weight. I bet I will really enjoy it once I get the pc hooked up right.
