Rider Critical

On Spring-Cypress near Grant, a high water barricade was knocked over by a truck. 3 witnesses were trying to fix the barricade when a 42 year old rider hit the water at a high rate of speed and lost control. He was taken by Lifeflight.

He was wearing a club jacket similar to a dead rider's from a previous accident last night on Hufsmith Kohrville Road and 249 about 3 miles East of first location. Riders could have been together at some point.

Well, have spoken with several pilots, and having been air-lifted after a bike wreck myself, they don't call in Life Flight unless you have better than average odds of living long enough to pay for a Life Flight. Hope he pulls through either way.

Absolutely not true. Its all up to the EMS unit that shows up. I will say that just because he was lifeflighted doesn't mean he was critical either. A lot woo woos out there love to call lifeflight for anything.

I pray he recovers.

I hit a section about 6" deep at night at about 30 mph on 146. Just kept it straight and held on. I had already scrubbed off all the speed I could and didn't want to try and swerve and hit it at an angle. There was a wall of water coming over my windscreen. Had my leathers (just bought) with cowboy boots (hadn't bought boots yet) and the boots filled with water. It was actually pretty funny later. Temps were in the 40's and was freezing my a** off after that.
