where to buy used dirtbikes...

Anyone know a good local place to buy used dirtbikes? My wife and I are looking at getting new to us dirtbikes, looking at a 125 for her and a 250 for me. We are both pretty set on the CR125,250 and its an absolute must that they are 2stroke. If anyone has some suggestions let us know.

Thanks,
Chris

I think Kdog had one of each unless they are sold, check the for sale section. Also there is a place on N. Eldridge @ Spring Cypress that has a bunch of dirtbikes, never dealt with them personally, but they do have a load of dirtbikes out.

Check out Houstonmotocross.com there's usually a few decent deals on there. Craigslist is always where I find mine.

Grew up riding 2strokes, can't beat the sound of a good 2t imo. I did have one 4stroke Honda and I didn't like it much always wanted to get back on the 2 stroke so I'm pretty set on it lol

After doing some research I see that the "best" 2stroke is still the 2001 CR250. Anyone got any suggestions on other bikes? I did think about possibly Yamaha or kawasaki but I refuse Suzuki (no offense rm fans). I haven't rode motocross in a while so I'm lost on where to come back in. the last bikes I was riding was a 2 stroke rm 250 and a 4stroke Xr 100 (play around bike) back in late 90's early 2k. Any suggestions r appreciated.

we will be doing alot of all around riding from trails to track, (brother likes trails me and wife like track)

Why the 01? The 02 look's newer and not as dated as the 01.
Are you pro enough to feel the differnce in bikes?
I had hear the rm is a very good handleing bike but that does not make me want one over the other.
They all feel the same to me.
I have a good running yz250 but have to check the year. Was told it was a 04 but think it is a 02. Needs seals on the forks, brake pads, chain and sprockets and after this last wreck a gas tank. I found one on cl for 50 bucks.

In all honesty, i'd be very happy with a CR250 2000-2006. Anything before that is where you start to hear slight complaints about the early generation aluminum grames. Even then, they are still good bikes.

Don't get me wrong I am definitely interested in 2000-2006 CR250's, I was saying from all the reviews I have been reading the 2001 was the "best year" by reliability, the forum I was reading said 2002 is when they changed the motor and it wasn't as powerful and reliable as the 01 motor. I'm not a pro rider by any means, I just like to research before I buy so I'm not disappointed in a purchase. I did find a pretty nice 06 CR250 I plan to go check out.

Last year I came across a perfect condition '06 CR250 for sale with title. Talked the guy down to $1,800. Drove to Lafayette to pick it up. Right before i got there, I texted him and he responded that he sold it the day before and forgot to tell me. Sold right out from underneath me.

If it's a good deal, it up!
