It makes more sense that she should risk being crushed under the bike once she hit the tilled rows of the corn field? She did the smart thing. The rear tire alone is heavy enough to hurt her. The bike can be easily repaired. She can't.

Well if you gear up for 20 mph commutes then of course you should gear up for drag racing.
