Exhaust Question?

Since I don't have to work tomorrow, I was thinking about putting my factory exhaust pipe on just to hear the difference. I was wondering if it would hurt the bike any if I changed pipes? They are slip ons. Also, would it do any damage if I started the bike without either pipe on?

No it wont hurt your bike to change exhausts... you could run it with out... but yea that would be insanely loud.. might damage your fairings... and off your entire neighborhood if you rode up and down the block more then once haha

^^ I thought if you ran the bike without the pipe it would be loud and ALSO
it would burn up your valves because it is mapped for certain exhaust....
I may be wrong on this but that is what I heard .

Question for Patrick!

I put my factory pipe on and the bike sounded like I just bought it off the showroom floor. It didn't sound as bad as I thought it would. It was actually louder than I remember. But my Yoshimura sounds great. Nothing compares to my bike with no pipe at all. It sounded like a fighter jet. I have never had so much fun. I want to find a pipe to get on my bike to replace my Yoshimura. I don't care if it is a slip on or a full exhaust system. I just loved how loud it was. It sounded deep and mean.

Who makes the loudest pipe? Do you think that it could of hurt my bike any that I rode it without the exhaust pipe on it? I only rode about 1/2 mile without it.

If you take the muffler packing out of you Yoshi it will be extremely loud.

I guess you mean with the slipon off, right? If so you didn't hurt anything.

the only thang about running with out a pipe is your not going to have any back pressure when you start your bike up after a while its going to take a while to start up, i had no pipe on my 900rr and yes it is really loud and cops like that too..........

Brandon,
You'll lose a little mid range but that's about it. You can take the baffle and packing out to make the Yosh louder. If you bring the can by we can do it for you if you want.

Been good Billy! Thanks for asking!
Yeah it was LOUD!:laughing6

In my experience loud can get annoying after awhile, but to each his own.
