most of the time i do...i never like to go by myself, so I always try to co-ordinate with other guys when i go out there....not looking to get hurt, but let's face it, it can happen and if you are there by yourself and get hurt, it could be awhile before you get help... I always like to have folks there with me when I practice, so i usually post up and see if anyone wants to go before i head that way... when we are practicing there is no ambulance or medics and no corner workers, so having someone there with you is always a good idea...and the wife would pitch a fit is she thought I was out there by myself.

i did not know you sucked, maybe if i was faster and could catch you, i would know that. except for the time that your bike broke I have never seen anything but the end of your green machine. who knows, now that i have the kit and carb on my bike that might change... but you guys will still out brake me, so i do not expect it to change much after the first couple of laps.

So.... what are the gear requirements?
Both for practice and race.

I'm not trying to get hurt, but I don't have a suit, and don't have gauntlet gloves.
(or a small enough bike at this point)

All of the above. Just like a track day. I didn't see anyone regulating, but you're gonna need them, cuz you will fall. Believe ME.

RIDING GEAR:

Full race leathers are strongly recommended. Leather jacket, leather gloves, leather boots that cover the ankle, and a full face helmet are required.

Helmet MUST BE SNELL 2000 or newer.

that is what the actual rules read, but i would wear everything you normally wear for a big bike trackday, including a back protector.
While you are riding a smaller bike at slower speeds you can still get hurt. It is safer but it is not safe... accidents do happen, people do get hurt. Most falls do not really cause any damage and i would say that 9 out of 10 guys who go down, get up, restart their bikes and finish the race... but we have had 3 broken collar bones so far this year and you want to be as protected as you can be.
it is also a fairly common practice for new riders, that have not raced before and are not used to close passing, to put an "X" on the back of their leathers so other riders know they are new and give them a little extra room.
unless you are already licensed to race by CMRA or another organization recognised by TMGP you will have to do the riders school and complete 2 sprint races before you will be allowed to do any endurance racing...the riders school consists of class time, a written test to be sure you are familiar with the flags and proceedures and a short mock race.

yep, he came off the kx65, but i don't think your leathers ever touched the ground, he protected them by cartwheeling across the grass, hands, then feet, then he sat down just like sitting down into a chair...then about 3 kicks and he was rolling again....

Rob, If Obed is the TMGP Pimp then your Official Title might be "Obed's Hoe". Hmmmmm... I guess we are all Obed's Hoes then.

I really need to and want to come out and ride at the track lately but have just been tied up too much with work and weekend duties. Maybe after this next Denton race tho.
