This! lol! Although most roadrace org's dont allow the use of an IV unless ordered by medical staff and not always readily ava...lol

Have you tried the assorted flavor packets? I found those to taste a lot better than the pre-bottled stuff! Keep cold waters in the cooler and mix in when you're ready to drink. I'll usually buy a box a day or two before and event and start hydrating. I think there are 8-10 pouches which allow you to continue the hydration process after a race weekend/trackday. That's when most ppl stop so it works as a reminder to FINISH the box. Apple flavored is the bomb!

I'm sure you can deal with the taste, it does work great

maybe try drinking it when you don't have a mouth full of snuff

maybe i should put the snuff in this , it might improve the flavor and the texture...it is a little bit syrupy.

I take electrolyte pills and water + a little Gatorade.

I need the salts more than the sugars/carbs anyway

Works great. Taste is none.

I picked up a bottle of the grape walgreens variety today. I'm not gonna taste the stuff until I'm hot and thirsty on Saturday. No need to develop an aversion to it before the go-day.

Unless you suffer from diarrhea and vomiting during your track day, Pedialyte is unnecessary. Pedialyte may also contain more sodium than you actually need if used just because of heavy perspiration.

I start drinking water 24 hours before the track day until my urine is colorless, then during the track day I drink water and Gatorade even when I'm not thirsty. You have to stay ahead with your fluids because if you get behind, you'll never catch up.

Yea thats what i was thinking that it would not help and the people saying it did are just having a placebo affect. I work outside i just drink lot and lots of water and a little bit of gatorade. Gatorade is good to drink but do not drink allot of it. Gatorade is full of sugar and salt and you do not want to have to much of it at one time.

There's also low-sodium V8, which has a ton of potassium as well as plain coconut water.

i do not think any of the drinks mentioned were ever intended to replace water, but used in conjunction with water...and nothing wrong with a placebo if it helps. it may all be in someones head, but if the placebo fixes that, then it worked...

Well you don't want to think you are hydrated and the pass out. Especially at a track going 100 mph with other people around you.
