was helping buzz get the 675 out of the grass and turned around and saw sik9 on the ground, and his bike was already picked up--took a sec to realize what had happened.

Had a great day other wise, was a fun trip out there today

I just got home from the hospital.

I got stitches for the thumb sized hole in my knee and the rest was just road rash on the other knee and my arm a little. Rash doesnt hurt right now but the stitched up hole does, it was so deep I saw my bone. I guess my mom was right when she said Im just thick boned, that was big.

I was riding just fine feeling comfortable and when I got to that corner I got distracted and target fixated on the stopped people thinking someone crashed. When I looked back i was too close to Michael and like a dumbass grabbed the whole front break.

I wasnt covering my break during the ride.

Also i wasnt too close to Michael coming into the turn but while he was slowing down I was still on the gas because I wasnt paying attention.

It's ironic because I always use 1 finger on the front break. But I guess my instincts kicked in or some .

It all happened so fast. But it was a stupid mistake and I'm sure I'm gonna remember all this and hopefully learn a lesson or two, especially when the hospital bills come in.

Thank you to all who helped Im sorry I dont know all of your names. Thank you a lot Renzo, I'll pay you back for going out of your way like that. bluepine helped tons and I cannot thank that man enough. And thanks CBR Tran for your help as well!!!

Thank you for the good wishes everyone.

Ill happily take the blame sik9 for suggesting not to cover your brakes.

However, a little rear couldve helped in this instance too.

Heres the thing, theres always conflictin opinions regarding rear braking. Look into it.

First, hat off to Renzo, who came to pick up the bike all the way out to Yankee's. He really went out of his way on a day that he may have been enjoying with his family.
Sik9 is fine. A couple of stitches to close up the coin size hole on his knee. Other than that, just a couple of bruises and scratches. Kiddos, buy those protection gears. If Sik9 wore the knee guards today, he would have rode his bike home rather than be taken to the hispital, and bunch of us would have gotton home at least a couple of hours ago. Big lesson to you Sudan! But now you know.
As far as the crash is concerned, again, it was a tturn after a relative long straight. I came ahead of the noob group to poaition myself for a good video shot to show all the noobs comig to that turn, then noticed a Daytona in the fast group had a light laydown after that turn. Nothing major. Biker is fine, bike is fine. However, as bunch of bikes stopped to assist that crash, i went ahead and flaaged down the noobs coming out of that turn to slow down. Sik9 was following the bike in front of him too close, and he locked the front brake and the bike skidded down, and he rolled a couple times. It is a huge relief that the leader made sure the noobs were at 25 to 30 mph coming to that turn and there wasnt a single instance where we passed the limit.
In summary, today's ride was well organized and we all enjoyed it(most of us). Couple of mishaps, yes! But it was an well organized and safe ride that most of us enjoyed it, and the organizers executed a great job to control the pace and order. We all know this is the nature of the beast. That's why we wear all the protective gears despite the heat. Jimrad even sent a couple of guys back home because they werent wearing the protective gears. But he cant go out to check if everyone has the knee guard or protector under the pants. Ar least i know T-max wears one of those to pretext himself from all the dudes he carry in the back of that scooter. Kekeke!
In short, awesome time, and great show of camaraderie. Have a wonderful 4th everyone!
Thanks for your help man.

I hate the irony of this situation though, just last night i was looking at knee guards.

Also my name is Sudad lol

Here is the video of the corner in question. (sorry for the weird effects, the camera mount was loose and a lot of de-shake makes it kind of funky).

From what I remember coming into the corner. I first thought the person on the inside of the curve was taking pics. I realized after the fact that he was actually waving us to slow.

My take is all the indications to slow could not really be seen (and understood) until after you had already turned into the curve. Definitely not where you want to start braking.

SUDAD!! Glad you are back home and ok. Today's crash is gonna save your tomorrow. You learned a big lesson with relatively minor damage, both monetary and physical. At least your humbleness to identify and accept your mistake is gonna make you a much better rider sooner.
