ninja 250 help

I already took the msf course a month back; I have my gear and now I just need to purchase a bike. The only problem is that I don't have the cash right now. I am saving my earnings, but I can't wait anymore and I would like to finance. I tried a credit union bank and wells fargo, but no luck . I have a decent credit score (7xx), but only 1 year or so of credit history (credit cards and accessory loans). I would like to know if there are any good online loans, banking centers or dealers that can help me in my situation. I have searched through out the forums, went to different banks and dealers but no luck yet . Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

If a Credit Union won't finance you, you're pretty much SoL They finance anything.

That's what I thought, but it might be possible that it depends on bank to bank. I am hesitant to try multiple banks, due to it affecting my credit score. There has to be a way.

If you can't get financed by a dealer something is up. I wouldn't buy a new 250 though

Don't be impatient..if you can find 250s on Craigslist all day for $1500 or less if you're not picky about the old body style.

A bike is a bike to me, regardless of looks. I just want to ride. I will keep looking on CL; thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

I have talked to one dealer so far (Honda Of Houston), not approved. I am in the process of talking to another (TMPS). I found a sv650 for $1400 with 56k miles. I have the cash for it, but don't know if that's a sensible way to go with that many miles.

Like a few of the guys mentioned, I dont think you should buy a brand new 250 bc Im betting youll outgrow it before your first year ends. Anddddd you can find 250s for under $2500. Im thinking you can find the older body style for ~1900. 2007 was the last of the old body style. Dont buy from a dealer..youll have to pay tt&l. =/

you're going to have to pay tt&l whenever you register the bike to get the title .

True.
I guess the advantage of buying it from the owner and not the dealership would be having about an extra month to come up with tt&l money, since hes strapped for cash. For my 2007 250 it was ~150 last year so Im pretty sure it would be even less now.

Dont you think dealerships charge more in general though? I think so. For a first bike & beginner bike, I just think getting it from a regular civilian is the best way.

I know you really want a motorcycle.
Sometimes it makes people blind to the condition of what they're buying.
Please, BEFORE YOU BUY, have the bike brought by the shop and we will do a visual inspection and test drive, free.
