520 on my SV650

what are you all's thoughts and opinions on this? thinking about doing it for the increased acceleration, not needed but im about to change out my chain so i figured why not consider it. im rarely over 85-90mph anyway so the top end wont matter

From the looks of your bio you will sale the bike before you will ever need to replace it again so go for it.

But really. I run a 520 on my gsxr 1000, it is a race bike though. A 520 won't last as long as a bigger chain and will give you a little better acceleration. You have to decide if it is worth the cost of replacing it sooner. Like I said though, do you plan on having the bike for a long time?

I really like the 520 conversion on my SV. There is a noticeable difference in the acceleration and in my opinion less rotating mass is always a good thing.

You talking about changing the gearing as well?

Eh, for street use stay with the stock 525. With the same gearing the performance difference between it and 520 is negligible, and the 525 will last longer.
