For the morning commuters I-45/1488 SB closed...

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- A fatal accident has shut down all southbound lanes of I-45 at FM 1488 this morning.

It happened around 3:45am in the Conroe area. DPS has confirmed that at least one person died in the two-vehicle accident. Details surrounding the accident are still sketchy at this point. Emergency crews are on the scene.

Authorities are saying to expect major delays in the area because the investigation is expected to take several hours.

Booked on two counts of Intoxicated Manslaughter and one count of Intoxicated Assault. Bond has been set at a total of $140,000.

Once her imprisonment phase is completed to the satisfaction of the courts, I'd think it entirely reasonable to stipulate a lifetime ban on driving. Drunk drivers that kill should all get perma-bans on their DLs. JMO
