I used to do that when I wore a mesh jacket. It worked very well till it dried out.

Except I got jacket funk odor real quick.

Is it caffineracer who has the cooling system that pumps cold water from an on board ice chest through his jacket?

I dunno...doesn't look like he's cooling his whole body off so much as blowin' air somewhere specific?

Well, the wet scarf does work.

The silk is soft and I don't really notice I have it on except my neck feels slightly cool vs normal. Normal feels like someone is pointing a hair dryer and my neck.

It cools, but keeps your gear form being wet and getting funky.

I got the one form Aerostitch. The Competetion one that comes in black seems to work better. It is two layers and holds more water.

The regular one, it only comes in white and stained quick form leather dye.

The regular one (single layer) is longer too. It is now a bedroom toy. Works pretty good if you want to tie her together or to something.

my mesh jacket keeps me pretty cool, i used frog togs in afghanistan and they dried out too fast, i can only imagine how fast they would dry out while riding. the last time we went to the field my buddy had one of those gel filled neck wraps, thing stayed wet allllll day long.

i think this is what he had

I bought a "Enduracool" performance towel from Academy and used it
this past Saturday on the ride through the forest..worked pretty well.
Kept the sun off my neck and cooled me down until it dried out.
