7k miles on my back tire and look...

Time to get another one. This tire is an Avon 300/35R18. I have been told that going to a metzler would get me 13-14k miles. Anybody have experience with this size tire and brands?

From my understanding, both Avon and Metzler are good. But that comes from what I've heard over the years, not personal experience.

I doubt you are going to find a tire that lasts 14,000 miles.
In fact with a big torque bike like yours I'm surprised you got 7,000.

Well this is my first and no complaints. I mean yes it would be nice to get more life out of it but for the time I have had it and the use I will deal with it.

At times ofcourse you know how it is in
Houston, sometimes you just have to get away from the fucktards.

I agree with you on that. I have been watching it close and actually called my buddy to get pricing on a new one yesterday. Sure enough I find this in the morning.

The ME880's will give better mileage than the Avons, especially if you keep up wth their pressures.
Fwiw, 7k out of a rear Avon is pretty good mileage.

Weekend rides mostly, plus a little local back road time trials.

Ride it like a grampa and get some HARD economy tires and you can get more life. But if you have a heavy throttle hand then your going to see about 5-6k out of those.
