Waving as you pass another rider?

I have noticed that some people do this and others do not. I am just curious as to what people think/do regarding this situation.

I wave at all motorcycles, but I've noticed that a lot of HD riders ignore sportbike riders...

I quit waving altogether.

On leisure rides its always in the middle of a turn, so screw that. In traffic i've got better things do than wave at someone so they don't get butthurt, so screw that. If I'm passing someone its too easy to misunderstand as a "bye bye, slowpoke", so screw that too.

So unless its just terribly convenient then no, I don't even bother waving.

times change, numbers change...
growing up it was customary to acknowledge any biker you came across on the road... there were a lot fewer of us out there then....
I acknowledge any biker, no matter which of my bikes I am riding and no matter what the other rider is on... I do it with a wave or hand signal if safety allows, if not, I at least nod.
I also notice that if I am on my harley, most harley riders will wave, but fewer do if I am on my sport bike.

i wave to all riders. Unless the situation isn't viable. But some HD riders do not wave after i wave to them. so i turn around and shoot them the bird.

I wave at every bike I pass, unless it's not safe to do so. 95% wave back, but you get the occasional douche that doesn't. I don't lose any sleep over it.

I try to be congenial to most people, until they give me a reason not to be.

I wave to everyone... especially scooters! Some dork waved to me from the passenger side of his black car with pink plates the other day... with his middle finger.... I assumed he had a boo-boo on it and wanted me to see....

One time I waved at a dude waiting to make a left. He then replied with tapping his lid (which we know what that means). Did not see anything. Little tricker got me. Was worth a chuckle afterwards.
