KTM RC8R

Saw one of these at Wild West Honda for the first time in person! I have to say it was one of the coolest bikes I have ever seen! Does anyone own one or know someone that does? Thanks guys.

Thanks bud! I will send him a Pm and ask him what he thinks of his! They are super-cool looking; but not sure how they perform. I'm sure the power delivery will be different being a V-twin. I have never owned a twin sport bike. They have all been in-line 4.

Ohh man the power delivery is supreme. It is amazing. The Twin sports bikes have more of "Immediate" power delivery than the build up of a 4. The rework they did on the bike has changed a few things. You will get a lot of immediate torque delivery and an even power delivery all the way to the higher rpm's but produce less power in the top 20% of the rpm's and more power in the lower.

I compare it similarly to a 2 stroke dirt bike ( inline 4) vs a 4 stroke ( v twin)

Ok, that makes alot of sense! Just didn't want to get on one and be dissapointed with the power delivery!

+1

He also owns several lap records on the RC8R when he was on Dunlops . Additionally, he is the regional sales manager for KTM in charge of KTM sales in 5 states.

Maybe he will give you a free lesson if you bought one.

rc51eviltwin on here has 2 of them. I think he is looking to dump one.

there are a couple of guys in here who have a habit of blowing up KTM's, you will be fine as long as you do not let one of them ride it.... I won't mention who they are by name, but if they are honest with you, they will identify themselves....

Thanks guys...I will be contacting Ty and see if I can get some more non-biased opinions. Just togo over the basics..maintenance and any issues the bikes might have.

Trust me i almost bought one like 5 times now. I am just waiting so i can buy it straight up cash. Instead of having to finance any part of the bike. So i would say ill own it in the next 4-5 months. I'll let you ride it if you still havn't tried one out.

I have another V-twin sport bike you could stop by and try riding real quick so you can see the difference in vtwin bike. I love them, especially at the track. I prefer to go into a turn on a lower rpm band that like a 4 where u want to be up high in the rpm's to have optimal corner exiting power. The twins don't require that.

Just an offer, even if you want to stop by and take the v twin around the block its a different feelings. I went from 4's to 2's and havent gone back (yet at least)

If I could go to a lighter v-twin than what I have, I'd do it in an instant!

My mind says go for it, but my wife says not a chance

Wives always have the final say-so. The way I trick my wife is to say that one is safer than the other! Whish we all know is BS!
