Had occasion to "test" this one out. Slid down the edge of the asphalt. It tore the little EXL patch off the shoulder, and one seam by the elbow caught on something and tore a little. Did it's job with no personal injury to myself.

I was doing around 60 or so when it all went down.

Oh, and the HJC CF did fine as well. Chipped a chunk of the CF right by the visor, but looks more cosmetic than anything.

Yeah, of all the get-offs over the years, this one was the most "un-eventful" :laughing6

Just put myself in a bad position, and got some help from an driver and met the ditch. More off then hurt and bike faired well.

Yep!

And may add a little duct tape to give it that "broken in" look... :icon_bigg

I hate it when I drop my bike. I bought a 2001 Bandit 1200 brand new and dropped it entering the parking lot (tons of loose gravel) of that old K-Mart off Wayside (or so) and 45. Thing was... I dropped it the day after I bought it.

Character? Ugh. I was embarrassed about it until the day I sold the bike which was about a year ago. No, I never had it repaired. It was relatively minor damage but....

Now wearing leathers that have scuff marks on it... THAT'S character!

Glad you're okay, Tex! Thanks for the review. I just wish you didn't have a valid reason for writing that review.

The Bandit held up well. Broke windscreen (which I had just ordered a replacement for the day prior). Bent the handlebar, which I was able to straighten "close enough" (gives me a reason to try out a drag bar), and scuffed the fairing and muffler (that will buff out)

I was happy my high dollar flush mount blinker survived, and just a had a gouge or two.

Did crack my belly pan, but fiberglass is easy enough, and it is just gloss black anyhow.
