I'm also interested in getting involved. I have a couple friends who would likely join a team with me. I'll need to get a bike though and I know nothing about minis. Any local shops or places to learn more?

www.supermotojunkie.com or www.planetminis.com if you want to read about motard type minis. I know very little about forums for the ysr's or nsr's. there is also a tmgp forum if you want to take a peek, but i forgot the web addy.

As for cost we added up a whole season of costs and divided thru by the number of hours (about 20 hours a season, $400 total costs). I included a top end rebuild, a new set of brake pads, a chain and sprocket set, and a fresh set of tires. With gas and premix it came to about $20 an hour to maintain, fuel, and operate the bike. So when we went to the races, regardless of which bike we rode, the owner got $20 an hour anytime he was not on the bike. 3 teammates...2 paid the owner $20, each payed $20 an hour to TMGP. Cost for a three hour race was $40 for the paying riders, and -$20 for the bike owner (his expenses are deferred until the bike breaks). This way the bike owner was fully responsible for getting a fueled and race ready bike to the track. Only problem we had with this was Arturo showing 30 minutes before practice ended. But no biggie, we always had a spare to practice on.

Crashes were handled poorly. Sometimes people paid there share, other times, the owner said nevermind, other times people just didn't wanna talk about it. In the end, it's peanuts compared to big bike racing, and probably cheaper than Track 21 or drive. Hey Arturo, do I owe you anything for the ghost rider crash?
