key stuck in ignition

So my key is stuck in my ignition. It will either b in the on position or turn right to the lock positiin but eill not go to the left to the off position to take the key out..
my question is can i spay some wd40 or something in ti helo get it out or what can i do?
And if it is stuck how hard is it to put a new ignition on?

O and its an 05 636.

you can use wd40. graphite would be better.

mine does the same thing, tap it with a hammer and it should release

Dont hit it with a hammer.
Just spray some WD-40 down in the lock, wiggle the key and it should come out.

the side of the tumbler, it is a problem with the pin that locks the front end, lubricating won't help

Known Kawi issue... I've seen it happen on 3 of my friend's bikes. When we finally got the keys out, we just put a bunch of graphite inside and it did actually seem to help for a little while.

Where do u get the "graphite"?.... and if i make a copy of my key at say wal mart or soetging will it open my tank?... i dont have a spare

Japawhat02 can hook you up with a key. I'm not sure it can be done at walmart, but I could be wrong.

Walmart does'nt carry the correct blanks, you need to go to stealership later model Kawi's keys need to be programmed for your bike, theft deterent. also try white lithium grease in a spray can works well.

Turns out i have some graphite in my garage, how much is too much? I poured a little and it didnt really do anything... i didnt want to over do it.

Sorry i've been away, If walmart has a blank key that matches yours they can cut it and it will open the gascap but should'nt start the bike.
