Loud pipes and harassment?

I'm thinking about getting TAB slash cut non-baffled slip-ons for my NRS. What is the likely hood I'm going to get some negative attention from the cops?

Well depends, most cops dont give a , because they know bikes want to be heard so they dont get hit on the freeway. But if you are being obnoxious in neighborhoods. That is different.

But that is my take on it.

Loud pipes are annoying. Do you really want to yell out "im speeding " to everyone for miles?

This.

It depends on your riding schedule and the neighborhood/area you live in. If you're rattling windows in the hood at 3am a few nights a week expect to start getting some negative attention.

I got the TAB Turn-out's non-baffled. They are loud but not very extreme. (I have got use to the noise or I'm becoming deaf!) I love the loud rumble of the engine and the sounds will grab the attention of the cagers you are approaching and that is a good thing. Also be aware that a lot of car alarms will trip by the vibration. So far no issues with the LEO's. I love mines! the louder the better.

I'd much rather be loud and obnoxious and have the cars around hear me, than have them not see or hear me.

Do it, loud pipes save lives.

my roadking and my other bikes are not loud, but my springer was one loud sob...
it would set off car alarms in parking lots when i idled by...
i never got a ticket, but then again never pushed it in town ...
i am sure I could have got a ticket if i had wanted to.

I'm more concerned about the woman in the SUV texting than whether or not I'm annoying someone. As for speeding Harley's don't go fast, remember

If I'm up at 3am it's cause I got a call from work

Awesome! Which tuner did you use? Thinking about getting the TAB auto tuner to go with the pipes.

Doug:

I got the Dynojet PC-V from FuelMoto

http://fuelmotousa.com/

They have great support and warranty, plus they have a lot of tunes that they will send it to you for free. Good thing about the TABS is that Dynojet already have some maps for them.

I'm using map: 15-006-014 TAB Performance slip-ons (turnouts without baffles), Stock air filter, Stock ECM. Have to modify it because it was a little lean and was backfiring a lot on deceleration. After changing the values for the fuel tables now runs perfect.

Lucky for you Holtzclaw is gone now though.
Some may say the same about a sport bike with a Muzzy exhaust....

I don't get the whole tugging on the throttle like it's a while at lights. Whether from a v-twin or i4 it's just silly imho.

I'm sure there are other cops out there like Holtzclaw, and should I meet them hopefully they are in an area my lawyer will deal with. I just don't want the hassle.

As for the "cut out" that's their model style designation. I'm not a huge fan of straight pipes.

As long as you aren't a douchebag about it, and don't redline it at every stop light, you're PROBABLY fine. With everyone's favorite noise off the streets, I've not heard of any noise tickets being written.

He wasn't relocated. He was "asked" to retire.

Your not going to post anything in your womans intro thread?

Another myth is loud pipes saves lives. If im cruising in the car with the radio up i cant hear the bike unless its right beside me out directly in front of me. so you think the other driver in the Suv with the windows up radio on and jabbering on the phone is really going to notice you.
