No seriously, why are we still talking about this?
Dude starts before the cop opens his mouth.
Not all LEOs are good ones, but that is not how you deal with a bad one.

Another dumbass hooligan who "thinks" he knows the law and what's going on.

If he has committed no crime, in the eyes of the law, prior to being pulled over, then it's a stupid dic-a$$ cop move to charge him with obscured liscense plate. Still waiting for wackjum, a licensed legal advisor, to weigh in on the matter. Not all these armchair wannabes.
Might be a bullshit charge but it's an easy case.

I probably would've arrested him and towed his bike also under those circumstances.

A large group of motorcycles riding like that would've absolutely generated a few calls to PD. It's not like a handful of units would've been able to stop and cite/arrest every knucklehead riding like an asshat. This guy was the one that got singled out. Too bad for him.

Oh, and what do you expect is going to happen when an officer asks you to turn around and put your hands behind your back and you don't?

Riding through downtown, making hand gestures to cops (before he was pulled over), while riding with a group 3 bikes to a lane, blocking traffic (not having the courtesy to spread out the pack), lane changes back and forth, and immediately mouthing to the cop. Right or wrong, you're gonna have trouble.

4)I generally do not condone acting the up on a bike because it brings heat on all bikers...but I understand. The devil gets into your head and traffic lights become drag launches, straight roads beg to to be shortened with speed, and sometimes that front wheel just will not stay down. All of us on Sportbikes are guilty sometimes. I do not condone the actions..but I understand.
5)When all of the rapists and child molesters and gun toting crack sellers are in jail for good, then focus your Po Po energy on traffic offenses.

There is some merit to being quiet when getting pulled over but I have witnessed too many instances where the cop is a because HE IS A .
Thank Police work was not a better paying profession because there would only be more DICKs lining up for jobs!!
Were you in that group that day? LOL, but seriously I can understand what your saying to a point, we all get a wild hair once and a while, but there was about 40+ people with a whole head full of wild hairs it was a bit much don't you think, swerving in and out of lanes, brake checking the cop, etc... they were looking for trouble, and trying to see what they could get away with. unfortunatly the guy with the cam. got the end of the stick, but if he had half a brain he would have toned down the attitude, I mean did he really think he would be able to keep his camera (it was wrong, way wrong of the cop) but he was going to get the cam one way or another, and the rider should have realized that, it probobly would have kept him out of jail if he just handed it over, then got a good lawyer for wrongful seizure of property, which most likely would have made the footage inadmissible in court.

What stands out to me is the disparity between the go-pro footage and the dash cam scenario. The cop in the original post went overboard when a fairly calm rider got a little mouthy and defensive. Shoves him from behind like that. He's not resisting. Then looks like he slamsthe door on something - was it his leg? Cop is on a power trip and needs a boot up his .

The cop that stops the truck remains calm (too calm imo) after being buzzed and backed off - that jackass taunting him, witnessing dozens of serious violations. Some sort of contraband is passed from the truck to a rider and then another person flees the scene on another bike... he's just calm. It would have made my day if that douchebag who rides up and grabs whatever it was from the girl got the tazed out of him before he could take off. Can you imagine if the first jackass was the one who stopped the truck?!?

Bingo.

If you get pulled over, get into a safe spot, say yes sir and no sir, and most importantly if you start to get aggressively accused of stuff you disagree with...SHUT THE F*CK UP.

I always think "yes sir", "No sir", and simple, basic, short answers to direct, specific questions will get you a warning or at least a ticket without a ride in the back of the car.

I would wager you will NOT win on the side of the road. Unless you happen to have Fresnel standing beside you....

Obvious disclaimer...I'm not Po-po and and I am no lawyer.
