Would you mind explain the benefits of this? I just can't seem to justify the extra 400/yr to put this on my insurance.

Also lone rider glad to hear your made it out in one piece. Still sounds like a fairly serious accident. people are just really this days. I hardly ever hear about an accident where someone didn't run. I think we need some vigilantly law to set people straight.
you serious? If you get seriously up the other persons insurance ma not cover all your injuries. also, if they dont have insurance this covers you and the deductible is only 250 by state law and wont ding you.

Might want to check yours, but most insurance companies have clauses about dangerous activities being excluded. Some insurance packages, especially cheap ones have motorcycles on their list of dangerous activities.

Sorry to hear about this Lawrence... out of all the miles you put on, it's some stupid asshat move like this. Heal up quick!

Honestly, I don't know if the guy is required to stop if there wasn't contact... but it would be the right thing to do. Same with anyone else who saw it happen, or saw your bike on its side.

Get well soon. Had a low side on cold tires back in the fall. My fault. Ended up in the on coming lanes at the intersection with broken ribs. So needless to say I was slow to get up. (30 seconds or so) People still had to make the light I guess and just kept driving around me. Even though I could hardly breath I was grinning in disbelief.. I could see the tires going by my head. After I had picked up the bike trying to make off the road a neighbor of mine saw me and stopped.

Sorry to hear about your accident, really up for the person to pull a hit & run.

A person that can't own up to their own actions/mistakes - That's a true coward. Karma will pay it's way back to them.

I am serious. If I have a good health insurance plan then why do I need to pay another insurance company more money to pay for the same thing my health insurance company pays for.

So yes I am curious if this insurance is really that much of a life saver or if its just some gimmick insurance companies have created to get more money out of you.

Lone Rider, glad to hear your out, rest up and heal up!

right there with you.

My company pays for my insurance 100%...but I see it benefitting those without company health ins.

Agree completely for anyone without good health insurance. I would say this is a must if you have poor or no health coverage. Its much much cheaper than hospital bills.

I'm glad I finally understand UM/UIM because my insurance company sure as couldn't explain it very well without it sounding like a scam. Thanks
