New here. Looking to get some track time in.

Hi everyone, Michael here . I live in Lake Jackson and ride a 05 Black Tribal CBR600rr, I have had her since August of 05, got just over 17K miles now. I am also a member on CBR600RR.COM, some of those guys are racers and post pics, they really got me looking into getting some track time in, so that is what I am here for ANY help from you local guys would be great. LOL, dont worry I am not a new member trying to sell something, only to disapprear after that.

I was looking into LSTD.com and then found you guys and also found Ridesafe.info, and to my joy found that new track in Hitchcock, at only 36 miles away from home I really hope to get a track day in there soon. I sure dont want to have to drive all the way to Dallas to get track times in, I may make the a trip to College Station some day though. Closer is better though, more money for track fees and less on gas and stuff.

Anyways back on topic, sorry I didn't mean for this to be along intro. Well I have my bike and my grear, the only thing I will rent is my suit, I dont want to drop 1K on a suit only to decide that the track is not for me.
I have a RF-1000 Helmet, Astars Gp Pro Gloves and Sidi Corsa Air boots and a new set of tires in the mail.

What I need from you guys is the details of getting set up, who do I need to call or register with, and just some general tips.

Thanks in advance.

I have pulled up a chair, so don't worry I will be around for a while, and even longer if I stick with the track days. Anyone here local.

I know what needs to be done to my bike for the basic track day so that is not a problem, I hope to go to Grandsport Speedway on March 3rd, that is their first day there.

There is a trackday at MSRH with Longhorn (Buck Beasely) on Jan. 27th. MSRH is about 10 minutes from you. Patrick will be onsite there to get you fitted and rent you some leathers.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, Thanks moody for the links, I sent him an email, I hope to get one of the two spots left. Is that open to noob track junkies?

Two hours ago I still thought the closest track was in College Station, then I found out about GrandSports and I have always know MSRH was there but thought it was a 7K a year membership to get on the track. I can't wait to get ride now, plus there is one only 10-15 min from me, yeah!

Buck is very accomidating for the new guys as well. Just let him know you are new and that you would like to follow him around the track before everything gets started.

welcome. rent the suit if you'd like....but you'll end up buying one after your track day. smokin the track pipe is addicting.

rent the suit from Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited, i believe your rental fee goes towards the purchase of a new suit with them. you might want to PM him to make sure of that.
