Organ Donor?

If not, it's a good cause.

Question, if an organ donor. Is a normal funeral still held with open casket?

I guess I am just overly worried about scams but I just don't feel comfortable when it ask for the last 4 of my social or my mom's maiden name. Those 2 bits of info are used too many times to verify information for say bank account and such.

But I am an organ donor.

Not really what I was getting at, I would just be worried if they mangled the lower portion of the body.

i am not one at the moment, when I went to the DMV in May to renew my DL I planned to change that.

After waiting in line for over an hour I found out like an idiot that my license was renewed when I got my CDL . Next time around I will change my status to organ donor.

yes. just let your family know if you choose to donate. after you are pronounced dead, the hospital will typically let the organ transplant place know and they will come talk to your family about harvesting your organs.

My thoughts exactly. I don't want the prematurely harvesting them lol.

Just being funny (although a little morbid)

Oh yeah no I mean they might, but you can't tell with the suit on. Things from the lower body I could imagine would be vessels to grafts and then also ligaments, tendons and other joint components, but no one would never know.

No need to wait, you can do it in 5 minutes through the website.

Why? You're already dead.

Quote:
Will donation delay a funeral? Is an open-casket funeral an option for organ, tissue or eye donors?
Usually organ donation does not delay a funeral. After you die, the recovery organization will communicate with your family about the timing of organ, tissue and eye recovery. In most cases, there isn't a long delay before your body can be released. Your body will be carefully reconstructed so that donation does not prevent you from having an open-casket funeral.
https://www.donatelifetexas.org/TXDear_Secure/Faq.aspx

All motorcycle riders should be organ donors, it's the responsible thing to do.
