my co-workers were laughing at me riding my wife 09 ninja 250 to work everyday . they said old man you need a cruiser not these sport bikes you
ride.
then one guy asked what kind of mpg it was getting and i did the math ,
wow it is getting almost 60 mile to the gallon , i have to say it is a fun bike
to ride

You go on that Ninja 250! Don't let anyone tell you it is not a kick- bike. In my day a 250 was "big", and they still are. My EX 500 gets about 50 mpg, not bad at all, and better than that cruising at 70 mph in 6th gear.

cheers,

I would be happy to ride a Ninja 250 :-) Don't pay attention to the words of ignorant people. Just smile at them...

I keep track of my bikes' mpg just so I might spot trouble if it drops out of normal range. Otherwise, I don't burn enough gas, even commute-riding, for the mpg to matter much.

Leah's 250 got 64 consistently and she rode at 75 mph all the time. Now on the 600 she only gets around 50. My 750 gets 46. Still pretty good. My truck gets 17.
