Interesting....

So I'm rolling down 10 in my honda fit cage, which I have, and love, from work and up at a distance I see what I almost couldn't believe but for some reason, my first thought was 100% accurate.

That's right, WOODEN saddlebags!

I thought it was kinda crazy, but then I saw the speakers by his feet and thought to myself "he can afford to outfit his ride with audio, but has to make his own bags?" then I realized there is no where to put a head unit on that bike so maybe the audio components are in those sweet custom bags

I could see a carpenter coming up with some decent stuff...that five or 7 layer stuff we used to build drawers would work if coated properly. I remember it only came in 5x5 sheets, think it was fron russia...was like the stuff for skateboards...I used to have to do the pickups for a wood shop I worked at...

I would have to trim it out with solid wood, maybe teak or a colored one form some endangered reinforest.... cause you know mine is going to be stain grade.

awsome you got pics!

They have some pretty cool grain patterns that would look sick.

Probably subwoofer enclosures. I used to build a lot of those way back when. Subs need a good amount of volume to be tuned right and sound tight.

woods

When I was a kid I found out my one 12 inch sub sounded better in the box than two if I sealed the second hole and knocked out the wall.

Very unlikely, no ports and no visible driver. The tops of the boxes where not a very good fit and certainly not secure, not to mention his bike was screaming "POTATOPOTATOPOTATO" I can't imagine he'd be able to hear a thing over that combined with the wind noise while in motion.

You'd be the better judge, since you saw it in person.

BTW, subs don't necessarily have to have visible driver or port. Higher order subs can have drivers mounted on an internal secondary enclosure firing into a ported "pre-chamber".

I would hazard a guess that probability that Bubba here appreciates that sort of thing is rather slim. But.. you never know.

Personally, I find an audio system on motorbikes an oxymoron. I wear ear plugs and rather ride to the sound of silence.

Agreed, and believe me, I know pleny about audio . Was in the industry for a long time I prefer my noise canceling earbuds but a tactile transducer under the seat would be a nice addition if one where inclined to add low frequency response on a bike.
