I have the 2009 R1, love the cross plane. I have a Yoshi 3/4 on it, and it purs.

I personally chose the newer R1 based on aesthetics, sound and ergonomics. Of course, these factors are subjective, but the sound (much deeper, V8-like rumble - my new neighbor thought I'd started up a Harley one morning with Akras cold) and riding comfort were what really did it for me. The older R1 is more of your traditional screamer with an aggressive seating position. The newer one is much more relaxed/comfortable IMHO. So the newer one for me - though I'd avoid the wannabe-racer paintjob.

Motor isn't a . Its just the US throttle map that sucks.

& am going to see how it is ... New graves full titum. exhaust pc5 aif filter gaffner brake lines tinted screen.... we will see !
