2006 Yamaha R1 LE vs. 2010 Yamaha LE

For all the R1 enthusiasts and purists out there! Which R1 do you guys like more! The old body style vs. the new body style? The old engine vs. the new cross-plane crankshaft? Just over-all sexiness of the bike?

Well seeing as i have the bike on the left, my vote goes with the true LE. The other bike is just stickers and paint, no suspension, no wheels, no custom tool kit, no special plaque for /500

Agreed if you are comparing actual bikes in the pictures, the '06 is great. Marachini's, Ohlins, and a plaque.

If you are comparing year to year, everyone is going to have their opinion, but I would take the newer model. Way more options on the newer for upgrades, and the crossplane is in some ways more advantageous.

Yeah I saw that one. I think they want 9K for it! That bike cost 18K when it first came out!

im a crossplane fan...not the fastest bike but the power delivery is what makes it a pleasure to ride...especially if you put some suspension and good tires on it.
love the roar as well...it has the most "personality" of the current liters imo.

the le is still desirable but the sharper agressive look of the newer bikes takes my attention...then again...im a poser

I think Yamaha should have done something different with these rims! The black rims do nothing for this bike! Thinking about getting them powder-coated either white or blue. I don't know....
