636's First Sprint Race Weekend

This weekend was amaZING!

We arrived at Cresson Thursday night,in effort to make Friday practice. The Friday plan was to corner work half day then ride the rest on the 250.Upon registration,we were told you cant ride a 250 with the 600+'s on the 1.7 track.Luckily, there was an hour mini session on the 1.3 track.

Saturday morning rolls around and Fastline's Leather and Lace Team was ready to dominate. One replaced rear set bracket and two low sides later,L&L placed 13th out of 23.Great job ladies!

A very special shout out to our very own Slyder. She took the team home and sacrificed a fractured left pinky to get us there.

Sunday,Slyder fought against her pain and sought redemption. In order to do so, she rode the 2fiddy and I rode her CBR 600.We've never ridden this track prior to this day.The two rounds of practice was our cram session to learn the lines.Practice rounds were intimidating. It felt like I was in a race.Almost everyone knew their lines and were flying.I was relieved that my yellow Prov Nov shirt explained my noobish behavior.

Each race is 5-10 minutes. With 5 minutes in between races.Time is precious.Make sure the tire warmers are off in time to make the grid.Stay hydrated, nourished, and fit.Take a potty brake at least 30 minutes before the call. It's easier to stay in the leathers so time isnt wasted to getting it on and off.The worst part was the anxiety that builts while you wait for your call.My top priority was to not crash someone else's bike and to participate in the Formula 1 Ladies Sprint Race.

The last call for Race #4 Motard/Clubman and F1 Ladies was announced.Gavin and a couple friends helped all three ladies get off the stands.Kudos to those who dont have pit help for their races. It's almost a necessity to have pit assistance.

On this track the start/finish line is half way through the track so the warm up/cool down lap was short. We reached grid and located our positions. We were in the second wave which consisted of only females. One hand went up til the first wave went.Second wave's turn..3..engine are revving.2..hands are holding the clutch in..go..keep front wheel down.I considered pacing with Slyder. That was hard to do since I was on a bigger bike.I decided to make that pass before turn one. After the second lap,I realized how out of shape I was.The track was small enough to memorize but the rattle snake was not a area to master that day.I had the whole track to myself til half the race. Then the leaders lapped me.The checker flag came up.End of race.I finished 19th out of 20.There were a few corner workers that were cheering us on before pit in.I felt accomplished and blew them a kiss.

Thanks to the Fastline Mini fellas who helped us put the bikes on stands.

I endurance raced two months ago but this was my first sprint race.I am honored to have been able to part take.I enjoyed every minute of it.I never planned to race but Slyder planted a racing seed in my head and made sure it happened.

Congratulations to everyone and their teams.A PERSONAL thanks to Slyder D2Racing,D1Racing,and Fastline Motorcycle School.

Nice report! You girls did great on your races! Now as a reward someone can help me fix the bike ya'll crashed.

Seriously though I really proud of Slyder even though she crashed mainly because she wanted her spot back on the track when it happened.

I have most of the raw footage from thr Go Pro. Unfortunately, either it was not turned on before the first low side or it deleted itself from the card..

This is the last few mins of the race till the lowside. At 6:37 I get caught by a few riders and a guy in yellow completes a pass that I was not happy about so I was going to take my spot back.

I really wanted to make LEATHER & LACE proud, but instead I gave Skid more work to do.
