new dirt bike rider

Hi guys just got into dirt bikes about 2 months ago. Picked up a couple small honda dirt bikes and am extremely eager to jump into the dirt bike scene. Im also looking here and there to see if i can invest in a bigger bike

lately ive been lurking around town for new areas for me to ride...its like a little adventure for me every time i ride and i feel like a kid all over again. Ive been riding around the intercontinental airport woods and various bayous in that area.....definitely in much need of new and more secluded areas with less streets and lawmen

im open to any suggestions on a good bike for me as well as dirt bike trails i should visit

regards,

Id really like trails mostly, canals, maybe some hills too. I'm not experienced for jumps or racing yet. I will have to search and be up to date on available trails on this forum. First I need a means of transporting my bike. Hitch on my Malibu?

If you aren't going to be hitting up the track, look into something like a Honda XR250 or a Yamaha TTR model. They are great, low maintenance bike geared for trail riding.

Just duct tape/ zip tie it to your roof. It won't go anywhere.

if you like trail riding, look into this site!! http://www.texasoffroad.net/forum/ub...tivetopics/7/1

it's a great place to start riding, i was new to dirt once myself, i started doing the hare scrambles and enduro races and i really love.. and you don't really need an overkill bike in order to ride/race these events..

Thanks for the info. I will look at the site moreso when I get off work. I kind of like the crf150r by honda. The xr250 looks like it pulls, I will have to see what kind of deals I can get on a model like that. The xr100 surprisingly pulls me well, I'm 5'9" at 200lbs. But its slowly feeling like something too small
