Dont listen to this dude bro. Just level with the guy and ask him if he is willing to help out any with the damages. Just be honest with the guy and tell him he not legally at fault. But "off the books" he caused this accident. He wouldnt have given you his insurance and followed you home if he didnt feel liable in some way. If the guy refuses, then cut your loses and fix the bike yourself. Contacting the dude one time isn't considered bugging him.

I called the guy one (1) time and he again said he would tell his insurance company he stopped in the middle of the intersection because he thought another car was going to come over the baracade and hit him so he stopped, then I stopped, guess my front brake locked up and my bike went right and so did I. But ya I'll cut my losses and get it together.

Should I even bother with his insurance company since he is calling them and telling them pretty much what all of what was said previously?

Thanks for the response,

Keith

Glad to hear you're ok. Were the roads wet out there?

If your upper fairing bracket (holds windshield) snapped, you can just order an aftermarket one from Ebay. I got mine for $69 shipped and it fits perfect.

Edit: IMO, it's better to leave the insurance out of it. As long as it's just cosmetic damage, fix it up yourself for a couple hundred $ and save your future premiums from going up.

Thanks for the response debit, I seen some oil leakage where a screw went through the fairing so im hoping maybe b/c it was on its side and hit right there some oil came out but still looking into it. I think I am most likely not going to follow up on it unless I hear some other advise on what his insurance may do. But all and all I'll think they'll contact mine and so on and so forth and like you say my premium goes up.

Thankyou again for the response

Keith

if you need a stand, i got a front Pitbull stand, but at another members house, i'd have to get in touch with her. rear one is a generic, but it will work. ( and i have that near your location)

Glad to hear you made it out ok. Did you get your license yet? Or am I thinking of someone else? If you don't have your M endorsement, I definitely would not call either insurance company.

Just my thoughts.

Glad you are ok sucks to hear, I just had a close call myself in the rain. Bluewave is just over the top on attitude but he is right about the rules. That means his insurance won't do anything for you at all. It doesn't mean it wasn't his fault though and he knows it. Hopefully nothing majorly wrong bud and you are right....Your ALIVE!

Glad you're ok. Better off fixing it yourself. Insurance companies don't pay if they don't have to, and if he contacts his there isn't a snowball's chance they'll pay. You can turn it in to yours, but it sounds like the amount of damage isn't worth the deductible and raised rates. Chalk it up to experience. We've all been there.

or... u guys can both leave insurance out of it.. keep your rates low, and ask him nicely if he could possibly just throw some cash your way so you can fix it yourself?

but.. yes, your fault. yes he did stop. BUT.. if you did not follow that close or gauge your speed better, would have been avoided. confidence is key.. overconfidence is TEH DEVILS..
