More than likely a scam. CL has been hit by hundreds of bike scams this last month. You know good and well about how much that bike is worth. Hundreds of bikes in the 2000 - 2008 year range. All types of CBR's, R1',s and R6's, ZX's, cruisers - you name it, all in the $2100 - $2500 range and sometimes there's 3 or 4 posted all in a row. I hope none of you guys fall for this .
If you repluy to the add you get some BS story about a son that died or she got it in the divorce - - basically any type of "story" and they just want to get rid of the bike. I could give a about your life history.
Here's the best advice guys - IF YOU CAN'T PUT YOUR HAND ON THE BIKE AND RUN THE VIN - - - forget it. It's a total scam.
DON'T FALL FOR THE EBAY MOTORS BUYER PROTECTION BS EITHER. IT AIN'T TRUE. They'll continue to talk and exchange emails until yer blue in the face. NONE OF IT IS TRUE.

THERE AIN'T NO BIKE !

Not sure if it's a scam...kbb lists it right over $2200. I figure if you can buy it for $1700-1800..not a bad deal.

It does annoy me that he doesn't have his contact info listed though, so you maybe right

Well you are allowed to ask for information... easier to determine if its a scam... does it say that you can't get info? Guess I didn't read it that well.

Well it's just that if you haven't dealt with buying bikes on CL before these scammers will talk an awesome deal and they already have all the proof that it's a real deal so you don't have to do anything but "trust" them.... and of course give them your money. They will even send you a link to KBB that shows the value and they'll send you a link to the eBay buyers protection plan . . . . it's all fake. We tried like 773H to talk Dennis' little brother out of it . . . l but noooo, the guy had all the proof and it was already in a shipping box in Montana.... and then $2700 was gone.
I'm just mentioning it so - be careful with your hard earned $$$$$$. If you can't physically put your hand on the bike - forget it.

Montana is one thing, that deal stinks of dirty ..

I'd never buy a bike site unseen. That being said, I've bought +/- 20 bikes from CL and haven't had a problem. Not willing to meet in a public grocery store parking lot? No deal!!!

Elcampo is just an hour away...if the dude isn't willing to meet halfway, then it would be fishy.

In regards to price, I think it's a fair lower price considering mileage...but maybe he is a scammer YMMV

Rule for posting CL links: copy and paste for posterity, cause the funny ones disappear.

Well, it's already removed anyways. But , really does seem like a scam though. It didn't have any problems with the bike or anything?
