or try booting in safe mode, and if that works, do a system restore.

First shut it down, remove the battery..let it set for a minute or so then put the battery in, try to boot up.

it can be several things.
Try safe mode (f8 when booting)
Check if the hard drive is spinning
If you reinstal windows, you can use any cd with the same version but make sure to use your key if asked

What is the exact error! If you could not boot to windows after dropping it then you probably damaged the hard drive if that is true then it probably won't let you reinstall the operating system.

There are many ways to fix a corrupt OS but hardware issue is another story.

Give me some more details:

What exact error are u gettin?
Do you see Windows screen start to load then you get the error?

If you have a bad hard drive you can recover the data
If its just an software issue I can have u up and running in a hour

Also fixmbr, fixboot and chkdsk usally fix alot of software boot issues

it says sorry but windows did not start sucessfully. a recent hardeware or software change might of caused this. if your computor stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your filesand folders, choose last known good configuration to revert to the most recent srttings that worked
if previos start up attempt was intterupted due to power failure or because the power or reset was pressed or if you are'nt sure what caused the problem, choose start windows normally.
