opinions on exhaust type

Just bought a 2012 gsxr 750 looking for full exhaust. Leaning towards the yoshimira but not fully sold. Any opinions? Looking for performance and sound. Also race railz vs frame sliders

Akrapovic videos on YouTube all sound quiet. I guess I just need to hear them in person. Yosh claims 8 hp gain and 8 lbs loss. Can't find anything on akrapovic. I like the look of the gp style slip on though.

As much as this may sound cliche-ic, I prefer to get Euro pipes for Euro bikes, and cans for machines. Yoshi has traditionally had very lcose ties with Suzuki, so they are likely to spend more R&D money on their bread and butter brand.

I like Yoshi's installation instructions - very well presented and easy to follow. For your 750, they even tell you how to disable the Suzuki SET (Suzuki Exhaust Tuning) system to get max power. Download and have a quick read, if you haven't already.

The days of bolting on an exhaust and getting gobs of power increase are long gone. Plus the major gains, if any, is typically up top, where street riders rarely venture into anyway. Whether they admit it or not, most riders replace their pipes for the looks and to make more/different noise. Nothing wrong with that. Just keep you expectation in check.

So, bearing that in mind... how do you maximize the return on your money? Judging the looks is easy, even on a computer. Sound... not so much. Don't judge the sound by youtube vids. Unless it was recorded with calibrated mikes and you have studio monitors for a computer sound system, they won't sound anything like the real thing. You really need to hear it in person to get the full effect.

No you're not.

Loud pipes don't do a damned thing except sound loud. Really. They're also very annoying to the rider on anything longer than a trip to Starbucks.

Get back to me about your "loud pipes save lives" idea when you ride more than 50 miles at a stretch.

Yes, that is a Harley in my avatar, yes I ride one, no it isn't loud - its quieter than stock in fact. While it sounds good, it is not offensive or noisy.

Those ackropavic came on my 750. I think they sound okay. Not going for loud, but they are. Came with my bike though. I like em. Imo.

Loud pipe don't do a darn thing now that a lot of cars/SUVs are so well insulated. There are times I don't hear the loud Harleys until they are right next to me. By then, if I were to pull a bonehead move, it's too late for the loud pipe gang anyway. If I open my windows, that might make a difference, but I almost never drive with my windows/moonroof open. The only time that happens is somebody in my car makes "chemistry" and I need to ventilate.

Last time i checked the most I hear if I dont have my ear buds in is wind noise. And you dont put 10000k in 6 months on a bike, the old DD bandit runnin strait pipes, without doing a couple of long hauls. If your own exaughst annoys you then thats a personal problem. I know Im not gonna drop 1-2grand on a system if i dont like it and want to hear it. And if mine some one off GOOD id rather have them and know im there then be normal and not know im there. And i agree cars now days are well insulated an most people have their windows up ac blowin but every little bit on help I can get for someone to notice me as im driving helps around here.

If I wanted loud I'd get a two bros or one of those mega phone pipes. Not really looking for something obnoxious just different than stock that gives me a couple hp. Just haven't heard many different pipes on my bike. Some suggestions or if someone has one they really like. Also about railz vs sliders.

I had an Akra pipe on my 06 and it sounded good......that said, I have Yosh pipes on my Busa and love the way they sound. Personally, I think they are on par, but Suzuki and Yosh go hand in hand. Get the Yosh, you wont be disappointed
